Slideluck Potshow launched in Charlottesville, Virginia on Thursday, June 11, 2009. It was a part of the third annual LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph, and served as the opening party that followed Sylvia Plachy's presentation. Much like Slideluck, LOOK grew out of the last 20 years of backyard slideshow parties of wildlife photographer and National Geographic editor-at-large, Nick Nichols. The event took place in the backroom of a bar on Main Street called Rapture, and the house was packed. Over 200 people from all over the country crowded in and though the food provided by the restaurant wasn't enough to feed everyone, the atmosphere was spirited and lively. Both Joby Gorillapod and Lowepro provided product that was given out to those who made donations and had winning raffle tickets.
