Bikeshow Event Info
Slideluck Bikeshow took place on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Hostelling International flagship in Harlem.  It was a glorious spring evening and about 300 folks came from all over the city – primarily on bicycle – to enjoy the celebration of art, food, community and bicycling. Lively tunes from The People’s Champs, cold Brooklyn Brews, and a sampling of delicious treats from Bier International, Billie's Black Gourmet Soul, Buster's, Galore Catering, Miss Mamie Spoonbreads set the pre-slideshow mood. A Landmark Vintage blue Schwinn tandem bike anchored the Bron Imaging/Fotocare photobooth on the grass while a Rotobooth provided much fun downstairs in the brick courtyard. Guests flipped through Peloton and 9W magazines with Perrier in hand before the raffle which included new bicycles from Brooklyness and Specialized and new sets of pink tires and Star Wars cycling jerseys from Light Street Cycles in Baltimore. As the sun set, Carly Planker started the slideshow and the crowd tucked in for the evening's main event. Just as quickly as the group ride led by Casey Kelbaugh and David Trimble of Red Hook Crit had arrived, off they pedaled into the night, towards the Ding Dong Lounge for the after party.
