Our 2nd Annual NYC Fundraiser and Auction took place at Sandbox Studios’ new groundfloor space in West Soho on Wednesday, December 8, 2011. The SLPS team and all of its volunteers put their best foot forward to raise funds for Slideluck Potshow and the Slideluck Youth Initiative’s programs. A total of 50 artists were included in the live and silent auctions – coordinated by Ryan Jones (who gave birth to Scarlet Jones Ouvaroff just a few days earlier) and run by Courtney Booth of Sotheby’s. Spirits were high due to spirits provided by WhistlePig Rye Whiskey, Tito’s Vodka and of course, Perrier and Brooklyn Brewery. Ben Walmer and the Highlands Dinner Club worked their culinary magic, Ari Joseph and Ebenezer Bond of World Up provided the tunes with guest DJ Peter Makebish closing out the evening. A short but powerful video about the Slideluck Youth Initiative helped loosen up people’s bidding paddles and many walked home with pieces of original artwork. Raffle prizes included: Rangers tickets, The Oxford Companion to Beer Box set, Nooka Gift Bag, Lovely Day Gift Card, Dorian Gray Gift Card, Happy Socks. Experience Items included: Bliss Spa Package, Push Pull Cambodia Tote, Saxon & Parole Dinner for two, Robinson Prime Reserve, InterContinental NYC Barclay Hotel, Rory McCay, Grey Area.
